Asian Investments Idiom

Since 2010, Malta Festival Poznań has featured a two-day Forum which, in a sectional and interdisciplinary way, reviews its main themes and builds and intellectual context for the artistic projects. The Forum is addressed to those who wish to confront their festival-related impressions and emotions with issues that are relevant to contemporary humanities. The lecturers include journalists, philosophers, sociologists, literary researchers, critics and artists. Moreover, audience members are more than welcome to contribute to the discussions. The name ‘Forum’ emphasises the open form of the meeting in its attempt to move beyond the structure of a conference that is lectured to listeners ex cathedra.
This year the Forum will be held on two consecutive days. On the first day we will be discussing the oeuvre of J.M. Coetzee, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature and author of the libretto to Slow Man the opera (composed by Nicholas Lens) which will have its world première during Malta Festival Poznań. On the second day we will focus on this year’s Malta Festival Idiom: Akcje Azjatyckie / Asian Investments.
The Forum will be crowned by the publication of a review of the Idiom, a collection of writings that, apart from their archival value, will provide a topically significant commentary to the line of the Festival programme and stimulate discussion about the subsequent Idioms.
